The short version

Vanquote has no servers, no accounts and no sign-in. We do not collect, receive, transmit or store any of your information. None of it. Everything you type into this app stays on your phone.

We can make that promise because the app was built without the ability to break it: it contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no code that uploads your data anywhere. The only network connection Vanquote ever makes is to Google Play, and only when you choose to buy the paid upgrade or when Play checks whether you already own it.

The rest of this policy explains that in detail, because Google Play requires a full policy and because you are entitled to know exactly what a business app is doing with your customers' details.

Information You Enter in the App

Vanquote is an offline quote and invoice builder. To do its job it holds the information you type in, including:

• Your business profile — trading name, address, phone number, email, tax registration number, and a logo image if you add one
• Your customers — names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and notes you record
• Your documents — quotes and invoices, their line items, descriptions, quantities, prices, tax rates, discounts, deposits, payments recorded and any notes or terms
• Your settings — currency, tax rates, document numbering, theme and language preference

All of this is written to a private database inside the app's own storage area on your device. Android prevents other apps from reading it. It is used only to display your records and to produce your PDF documents.

We never receive this information. There is no server for it to be sent to. We do not know your business name, we do not know your customers, and we cannot see a single figure you have entered.

Information We Do Not Collect

To be explicit, Vanquote does not collect, and contains no code capable of collecting:

• Usage analytics of any kind — we do not know which screens you open or how often you use the app
• Crash reports or diagnostic telemetry
• Advertising identifiers — the app shows no ads
• Your name, email address, phone number or account details — there is no account to create
• Your location
• Your contacts, photos, calendar, call logs, SMS or files outside its own storage
• Your device's advertising ID, IMEI, MAC address or any persistent hardware identifier
• Payment card details of any kind

Permissions the App Requests

Vanquote asks for as little as it can:

• Internet access — used exclusively by Google Play Billing to process a purchase and to confirm an existing one. The app makes no other network requests. If you never buy the upgrade, it never connects to anything.
• Notifications (optional, Android 13 and above) — only so the app can tell you a scheduled backup succeeded or failed. These are generated on your device by your device. There is no push notification server, and no notification content ever leaves your phone. You can decline this permission and the app works normally.
• Run at startup and keep the device awake — used only by Android's built-in job scheduler so a backup you scheduled can run reliably. Both operate entirely on-device.

Vanquote requests no storage permission. It reads and writes only its own private area, plus any single folder you explicitly hand it for backups.

PDF Documents You Create

When you generate a quote or an invoice, the PDF is rendered entirely on your device and written into the app's private folder. Nothing is uploaded, and no copy is kept by us.

A PDF leaves your device only when you share it — by email, WhatsApp, a messaging app, printing, or saving it elsewhere. At that moment the document is in the hands of whichever app you chose and whoever you sent it to, under their policies and not ours. We are not involved in that transfer and have no visibility of it.

Backups You Create

Vanquote can export your entire dataset to a single backup file so you can move to a new phone or recover from a lost one.

You choose where that file goes using Android's own folder picker. It may be a folder on your device, on an SD card, or in a cloud storage app you already have installed, such as Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox. The app writes the file to the location you picked and nothing more. It has no access to any other folder, and it cannot browse your storage.

Please note: if you choose a folder that belongs to a cloud storage app, that app will sync your backup to that provider's servers under your account and their privacy policy. That is your choice and your account — we have no access to it and receive no copy. If you would rather your data never touches a cloud service, choose a folder on the device itself.

A backup file contains your business details, customers and documents. Treat it like any other business record: anyone who obtains the file can read it. Delete backup files you no longer need.

Android System Backup

Android's own backup service may include this app's data in the device backup tied to your Google account, if you have device backup switched on in your Android settings. This is a Google platform feature controlled by your device settings, not something we operate or can see. You can turn it off for all apps in your Android system settings under Backup.

In-App Purchase

Vanquote is free to try. Finalising more than three documents requires a one-time purchase that unlocks the app permanently on your Google account. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

The purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see, receive or store your card number, billing address, or any payment detail. Google Play tells the app only whether the product has been purchased, so the app can unlock. Refunds and purchase history are handled through your Google Play account.

Your unlocked status is cached on your device deliberately, so that the app keeps working when you have no signal — a contractor with no bars should never be locked out of their own invoices.

Third-Party Services

Vanquote uses exactly one third-party service:

• Google Play Billing — processes the one-time purchase and reports entitlement. Governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service.

There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, no cloud database and no sign-in provider in this app.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent or trade your information, because we never hold it. There is no dataset for us to share.

We cannot disclose your business or customer records in response to a legal request, a subpoena or a government demand, for the simple reason that we do not possess them. They exist only on your device and in backups you control.

Data Retention and Deletion

• Your records stay on your device until you delete them.
• Deleting a draft removes it. Finalised invoices are voided rather than deleted, so your numbering stays intact for your own accounting — this is a bookkeeping requirement, not a data-collection one, and voided documents live on your device like everything else.
• Clearing the app's data from Android settings, or uninstalling the app, removes everything it holds on your device permanently.
• Backup files you created are yours to delete, wherever you put them. Uninstalling the app does not remove them.
• We hold no copy of anything and therefore have nothing to retain or to delete on your behalf. If you would like your data erased, uninstalling the app achieves it completely.

Security

Your data lives inside Android's app-private storage, which the operating system isolates from other apps. Because nothing is transmitted, there is no server of ours to be breached and no data in transit to intercept.

The security that remains in your hands is physical: anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app. Use a screen lock. Backup files are not encrypted, so store them somewhere you consider safe. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot protect data on a device that is shared or unlocked.

Children's Privacy

Vanquote is a business tool for tradespeople and contractors. It is not directed at children and has no appeal to them. Since it collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Your Rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal information a company holds about you. In this app those rights are satisfied by design rather than by request: you already hold all of it, you can edit any record directly, the backup feature exports it in full, and uninstalling deletes it. We are not a data controller or processor for your records, because they never reach us.

If you use Vanquote to store your customers' details, you are the data controller for that information under those laws. The app is a tool you operate, in the same way a paper invoice book would be.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Should a future version of the app ever add a feature that transmits data, it will be described here before that version ships, and it will be optional.
